The Queen must have diverse tastes. Not only did her Royal Variety Performance this week include Lady Gaga, Michael Buble and Mika, maestro Andre Rieu was also on show.

Rieu performed in front of Queen Elizabeth II and her husband Prince Phillip.

“A performance for the Queen of England and having the opportunity to share the stage with such great stars in front of more than 12 million viewers, which is an enormous honour. This is a new milestone in my career!" said Rieu, who had the opportunity to talk to Queen Elizabeth; "I shook her hand and spoke to her shortly. She was very friendly and told me that she enjoyed the beautiful melodies a lot".

Other performers on this years Royal Variety Performance were Katherine Jenkins, Anastacia, Miley Cyrus and the cast of Sister Act with Whoopi Goldberg.

Andre Rieu will return to Australia for more shows in 2010.
