Sir Antony Hopkins has joined Andre Rieu in Maastricht, Holland for the debut performance of a ‘And The Waltz Goes On’, a piece Hopkins wrote especially for the maestro.
The famous actor Hopkins, best known as the evil Hannibal Lecter in Hannibal and the evil more evil Richard Nixon in Nixon, has written music for many years. In 1986, he released the single ‘Distant Star’. It peaked at no. 75 on the UK charts. He also composed the piece ‘The Masque of Time’. The Dallas Symphony Orchestra premiered the composition in 2008.
Hopkins watched as Rieu performed his new piece with the Johann Strauss Orchestra in his studio in Maasticht. Sir Antony wrote the piece for Andre. Andre Rieu will perform the composition on his upcoming tour.
