Russia played host but it was Norway who took home the Eurovision prize.
23-year old Alexander Rybak made history this weekend with the highest score ever in Eurovision history. He scored 387 points ahead of Iceland with 218 and Azerbaijan with 207 points.Rybak beat favorites Noa and Mira, an Arab-Jewish duo who sang the song ‘There Must Be Another Way’, endorsed by Paul McCartney.

This years Eurovision song contest was held in the same stadium in Moscow built in 1980 for the Olympic Games. It was the most expensive Eurovision ever. Russia is reported to have spent $42 million for five-day event.
This year was the 54th Eurovision Song Contest.
