Melbourne singer/songwriter Brett Goldsmith has been throwing down a few tunes in the studio this year and has put them up on Myspace.
Brett’s showcase song for next early next year is called ‘Ordinary Life’.Brett can explain his background for you. At his Myspace site he says, “I started out as a writer for other artists in Australia. Got into music through my aunt Olivia Newton-John. I got bored playing gigs for other people back then, so I picked up a camera & started shoot fashion photography both in Australia & Japan. I went back to my home studio in 2008 using my own voice for my own songs. I wrote and played this album over 6 months in my photo studio.”
A few things he missed:
• He wrote and produced two Chantoozies albums in his early 20’s with hit singles ‘Wanna Be Up’ & ‘Witch Queen of New Orleans’, producing platinum album sales for Mushroom Records.
• His father is Melbourne nightclub entrepreneur Brian Goldsmith
• His sister is singer /actress Tottie Goldsmith.
• His great father was the German Physicist and founder of quantum mechanics and Nobel laurite Max Born, who collaborated with Albert Einstein’s through Cambridge University during the second world war.
• His album was, written, engineered and produced over an 8-month period on his own, in his photo studio in Windsor Melbourne, playing all the instruments.
