Former Chantoozie Brett Goldsmith dropped by Undercover this week to perform a few songs from his new album ‘Ordinary World’ and also played an acoustic version of old Chantoozies hit ‘Wanna Be Up’ the way it was originally written.
Brett said the song was an after thought for the Chantoozies album. It was written for Ally Fowler to sing and he needed to write a song to suit her voice.
Mushroom boss Michael Gudinski suggested Brett write a country song for Ally and from that came ‘Wanna Be Up’.
Brett has rarely ever performed the acoustic, country version of ‘Wanna Be Up’. This performance for Undercover uSessions is the only version out there.
