One of the more interesting collaborations on the way may be between Tom Waits and Tricky.
The odd couple are reported to be working on an album together. Planet Sound reports that Island Records founder Chris Blackwell made the introduction. Tricky is a former Island Records artist. Tom was once on the label as well.Tricky says that the pair hug out at Tom's place in San Francisco and that he would describe their joint sound as "a brand new type of music".
There is no scheduled release for the project, nor is their any confirmation that he will ever be released.
Waits was due to appear in the forthcoming Terry Gillam movie 'The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus' but the movie was placed in hiatus after the death of Waits' co-star Heath Ledger. Waits is currently on tour in the USA.
Tricky's most recent album is this year's 'Knowle West Boy'. He will soon tour Australia.
