Tom Waits and The Preservation Hall Jazz Band offer a new 78rpm record and throw in the player for free.
Since the album was inspired an old 78rpm recording, and since they’d been having so much fun, Waits and the band recorded a cover of two Danny Barker songs - ‘Tootie Ma Is A Big Fine Thing’ and ‘Corrine Died On The Battlefield’.
There will be 504 copies of the 78, and the first hundred will come with a custom-made Preservation Hall 78rpm record player.
That, of course, is only available to those choosing the ‘Deluxe Donation’ package, in the $200 range, but the 78 alone can be bought for $50.
If you want to pay a little more you can pick up your copy in person at the hall in New Orleans from November 19, or wait to order online from November 20 at the dot com.
