The Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame held their induction ceremony last night, with Tom Waits, Alice Cooper, Neil Diamond and more music legends.
The ceremony took place at the Waldorf Astoria in New York on Monday night, featuring performances form inductees Neil Diamond, Alice Cooper, Tom Waits, Darlene Love and Dr John.
A snake-strewn and bloody Alice Cooper was inducted by Rob Zombie, AP reporting that he said, "We've always been a hard-rock band. We just wanted to decorate it a little differently."
Neil Young inducted Tom Waits, Paul Simon inducted Neil Diamond, Bette Midler inducted Darlene Love, John Legend inducted Dr John and Elton John inducted his recent collaborator Leon Russell.
Waits was quoted as saying in his speech, "They say that I have no hits and that I'm difficult to work with and they say that like it's a bad thing.
Neil Diamond was also a little cheeky, blurting, “Here I am. I'm sorry I didn't write a speech. I just got off tour from Australia, I did a show two days ago, I got on a plane, commercial, yesterday. I've been flying my ass off for 45 hours, got in this morning. I have no idea where we are... What are we doing here? What the heck is going on right here?”
The stars then united for a performance of the doo-wop classic ‘Da Do Ron Ron’, made famous by The Crystals.
