Tom Waits is set to be the devil in the upcoming film from former Monty Pythonite, Terry Gilliam.
The film will be entitled The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, and tells the story of a travelling theatre troupe who have a pact with the devil, enabling them to take various audience members through a mirror into their deepest imaginations.Heath Ledger was cast as one of the lucky ones who gets to see his own imagination, but he died midway through production.
It is unclear whether footage of him will be used in the film, but Johnny Depp, Jude Law and Colin Farrell will all play various incarnations of Ledger's character as he travels through the various dimensions.
The film will be released next year. Sounds pretty cool, hey?
