Loudon Wainwright III will tour Australia and New Zealand from February.
The humorous singer/songwriter recently released his critically acclaimed 'Strange Weirdos: Music from and Inspired by the film Knocked Up'.On the charts, he is best known for the novelty song 'Dead Skunk', a Top 10 hit from 1972.
The Wainwright family has a heritage in the arts. Loudon's dad, Loudon Wainwright Jr was a writer and editor for Life magazine.
He and former wife, Kate McGarrigle of the McGarrigle Sisters, continued the lineage with their kids Rufus and Martha Wainwright, both now well-known singer/songwriters on their own.
Both children are topics of Loudon's songs. 'Rufus Is A Tit Man' was written about Rufus breastfeeding as a child. 'Pretty Little Martha' was Martha's introduction to song.
