Tom Waits will release a three disc set on November 21, featuring over three hours of material.
The collection, entitled 'Orphans' will feature 54 songs over three discs (called 'Brawlers', 'Bawlers' and 'Bastards'), 30 of which are new recordings and will come with a 94 page booklet.Waits said of the songs in a press release; "Orphans are rough and tender tunes. Rhumbas about mermaids, shuffles about trainwrecks, tarantellas about insects, madrigrals about drowning. Scared, mean, orphaned songs of rapture and melancholy."
"Songs that grew up hard. Songs of dubious origin rescued from cruel fate and now left wanting only to be cared for. Show that you are not afraid and take them home. They don't bite, they just need attention."
It is his first new release since 2004's 'Real Gone'.
