Georgian indie darlings Deerhunter are officially going on hiatus just as soon as their current European tour is over.
A message on their official website says "I would like to announce that the show we are playing at Primavera in Barcelona (I hope to god I spelled that right) will be our last for quite some time."It will also be the last time we are ever playing the Cryptograms set we have been playing for the last two years. After that the band are going on hiatus. We all need some time to organize our lives. Thanks to everyone who has helped us out. This has been a crazy year that I will always remember."
Rest assured, we'll still be hearing solo stuff over the coming years, just as a band they've over it.
The band have just a couple more shows left, so if you're lucky enough to be in a town they're visiting, I suggest you check them out at:
NOVEMBER
30 - Variety Playhouse, Atlanta, GA
DECEMBER
5 - Georgia Theatre, Athens, GA
8 - Primavera Club, Barcelona, Spain
MAY
9 - 11 - Rye England, Camber Sands Holiday Centre (ATP)
We wonder if the band remembered they had a gig scheduled for May next year when they decided they would take a hiatus for "quite some time"?
