Beeb Birtles, Glenn Shorrock and Graeham Goble, the founding members of Little River Band, can add a new award to their trophy mantle. Last Thursday, they became the third act to be granted The Easy from the Australian Songwriter Association.

The Easy is given to cream of Australian songwriters.

The awards started just three years ago as part of the Australian Songwriters Association Awards. Previous inductees were The Easybeats (hence the name The Easys) and last year Russell Morris.

Birtles, Shorrock and Goble were inducted by their former LRB manager Glenn Wheatley.

The group then played three of their big classics 'Cool Change', 'Help Is On Its Way' and 'Reminiscing'.

'Reminiscing', written by the bands Graeham Goble, was the bands biggest hit internationally and is about to clock up more than 5 million spins on US radio.

Current manager Paul Rodger tells Undercover News that Birtles, Shorrock, Goble are currently in talks with their record label about recording their first studio album sometime in 2007.

Before that, Glenn Shorrock will release an acoustic album of previous hits from his bands LRB, Axiom and the Twilights as well as his solo records with some new songs later this year.

Graeham Goble will also release his long awaited solo album next month.

Birtles, Shorrock, Goble will also perform three shows in Australia from later this month.

Dates are:

August 29, Sydney, Starcity
August 31, Gold Coast, Twin Towns
September 2, Melbourne, The Palms
