One of Australia's most popular and best bands, The Living End, has left EMI Records to sign with Brisbane Independent Dew Process.
Dew Process is the label behind Powderfinger, Sarah Blasko, The Grates, The panics and Expatriate.The Living End had a run of platinum selling albums with EMI in Australia and also made a name for themselves as a popular live act in the United States. Their live shows at The Troubadour in Los Angeles and various shows at SxSW in Austin in 2006 were critically acclaimed.
"We're very excited about our decision and we believe that the family atmosphere of Dew Process is the right home for The Living End" said Chris Cheney of The Living End in a statement "It is such a great pleasure to have the opportunity to make some recordings with The Living End and contribute further to the really amazing career The Living End have had to date. I met Rae and the band whilst frolicking on the Big Day Out in '99 have been a fan ever since. This is massively exciting news for Dew Process, the office is abuzz and we can't wait to get into it," added Paul Piticco, Dew Process General Manager.
The Living End will release the first Dew Process album in 2008.
