It's true, Sly and the Family Stone will reunite for their first New York show in 33 years.
The band will perform at B.B. Kings just off Broadway on December 7.Fans of the super-politically charged funk/rock/soul legends might want to hold onto their hats though. Recent gigs has seen the band performing behind their leader Sly Stone with just appearing on stage for as little as 20 minutes.
Stone, who until earlier this year had all but disappeared from public view, has looked almost shy on stage and at one point even telling the North Sea Jazz Festival audience earlier this year, "I'm an old man, I'm gonna go take a fucking break, okay?"
Tickets for the New York show will be on sale next week.
