Kool and the Gang will head to Australia with Roy Ayers early next year for what promises to be the funkiest thing to hit this part of the world in years.
The band will play a show in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth, as well as the Playground Weekender festival in Wiseman’s Ferry, NSW.
Kool and the Gang had a number of hits in the 70s and 80s including ‘Celebration’, ‘Get Down On It’ and ‘Jungle Boogie’, the latter of which enjoyed a huge resurgence when it appeared on the ‘Pulp Fiction’ soundtrack in 1994.
Roy Ayers has released albums branching between funk, soul, jazz fusion and afro beat from the 1960s until now. He will only be performing at the Melbourne and Sydney shows.
