Rage Against The Machine vocalist Zack De La Rocha finishes his debut solo album.
After the break-up of Rage (instigated by De La Rocha), it took two years for the rest of the members, headed by Chris Cornell, to release an album as Audioslave. They have already released three albums, Brad Wilk and Tim Commerford have worked on Maynard Keenan's Puscifer project and Commerford has released a solo album as The Nightwatchman. Now, after seven years of work, Billboard reports that De La Rocha has wrapped up work on his solo debut. Word is he's been working with ex-drummer for The Mars Volta Jon Theodore. Part of the recording took place at Jack Johnson's LA studio. They quote a source close to the project that describes the sound as a hybrid of "Led Zeppelin and Dr. Dre."
De La Rocha is currently unsigned and the album untitled but he's got the timing right. Rage reunited for Coachella and are likely to headine Australia's Big Day Out, but Tom Morello has quashed speculation about the band producing new music.
