Fleetwood Mac frontman Lindsey Buckingham finishes his fifth solo album and plans a tour.
Reuters reports that Buckingham has completed his fifth studio solo album (and third in five years), called Seeds We Sow.
He plans to release it in September and may go the independent route after splitting with Warner Bros.
He said he has unhappy about how the label dealt with his previous solo efforts – 2006’s Under The Skin and 2008’s Gift Of Screws – so he mused that he might go with a new label or get an “independent promotion team” and release it himself.
He says Seeds We Sow is most like his critically acclaimed 1992 solo album Out Of The Cradle.
It features an obscure Stones cover (1967’s ‘She Smiled Sweetly’), much like Under The Skin had 1966’s ‘I Am Waiting’.
Buckingham also plans a solo tour to promote the album later in the year.
