The Australian Music Industry has combined for a show at Melbourne's Palais Theatre on October 21 to benefit Max Merritt.
Merritt is best known for the classic hit 'Slipping Away'.He has been suffering from kidney failure after falling ill in the USA earlier this year. He has had further complications from the surgery.
'Concert for Max' will feature Ross Wilson, James Reyne, Kevin Borich, Jon English, Paul Norton, John Paul Young, Swanee, Normie Rowe, Peter Cupples, Dinah Lee, The Delltones, Doug Parkinson, Wilbur Wilde, Spectrum and Daryl Braitwaite.
In a statement from his home in suburban Los Angeles, Max said "I am finding it very difficult to adequately express my appreciation for the help and support during my time of extreme personal need. Your help is absolutely overwhelming".
Merritt's Manager Wal Bishop has confirmed "Yes, things have not been good for Max recently. He's suffering from a virus which has attacked his lungs and kidneys requiring him to undo dialysis three days a week."
Tickets are now on sale for the show from Ticketmaster for $75.00.
'Concert for Max' will be held at the Palais on October 21.
