Australia's music industry will gather in Melbourne this Sunday to support one of its own, Max Merritt, who has been suffering from Goodpasture's syndrome in Los Angeles.
Merritt, who is too ill to attend the show, said in a statement "I'm thrilled to find that the concert is not just about me. It's gotta be about entertaining the fans by putting a show together that is a one-off and have people raving about it long after the event ... and I can tell you, the producers have done just that ."He has asked that a DVD copy of this weekend's show be shipped to him ASAP next week.
Goodpasture's syndrome is a disease that attacks the kidneys and liver.
The Concert for Max is on this Sunday, October 21, at the Palais, St Kilda.
