Katie Noonan Debuts Solo

The bold voice behind george and Elixir is finally branching out on her own.

Noonan spent most of 2006 at Sydney's Linear Recording studio polishing up her solo debut, 'Skin'. The aptly-titled first single 'Time To Begin' has already topped 30 on the ARIA charts.

Katie Noonan is probably best known for fronting the surprise indie success of george, with her bother Tyrone. Their debut album hit number one on the ARIA charts in 2002 and introduced the nation to Noonan's versatile, operatic voice.

While george dropped out of the spotlight, Noonan has kept the surprises coming. Her pre-george act Elixir had a top 30 self-titled album in 2003, pretty amazing for what is essentially a jazz outfit. She then teamed up for a duet album with her mother in 2004's 'Two Of A Kind' and worked on the jazz cycle 'Before Time Could Change Us' with noted composer Paul Grabowsky in 2005.

'Skin' will be released on August 11, with warm up shows across Sydney through late July and launch shows in Sydney and Melbourne.

Album Launches:
Friday August 31 - Metro Theatre, Sydney
Saturday September 1- Forum Theatre, Melbourne
