A new album will match refugee musicians with some of Australia’s biggest artists.
The project, dubbed The Key Of Sea, is set to provide “A document of shared music and stories exchanged”.
The first list of collaborations appears on the The Key Of Sea’s website.
It consists of Sarah Blasko with Ajak Kwai, The Cat Empire with Anbessa Gebrehiwot. Philadelphia Grand Jury with Klezmania, Katie Noonan with Taikoz, Tim Rogers with Mortika Rebetika, The Vasco Era with Yousif Aziz, Oh Mercy with Nadia Omar, Old Man River with Javier Fredes, and Blue King Brown with Diafrix.
You’ll surely recognise the first artists in each pairing, yet the second might not be so familiar.
These are musicians who have refugee backgrounds, coming from parts of the world such as Sudan, Chile, Ethopia, Greece, Pakistan, and Iraq.
More details are sure to be revealed about The Key Of Sea before its release on November 11.
