Heaven and Hell, otherwise known as the third incarnation of Black Sabbath (with Vinnie Appice on drums and Ronnie James Dio on vocals) will be heading to Australia for the very first time.
The band have been touring the USA garnering staggering reviews by over excited journalists who are getting a glimpse of the true metal gods in the kind of reformation you wouldn't expect in a million years. After Ozzy Osbourne left Black Sabbath in 1979, the band looked doomed until Ronnie James Dio, who was best known as lead singer in Ritchie Blackmore's post-Deep Purple band Rainbow, joined the band and recorded three albums - 'Heaven and Hell' (1980), 'Mob Rules' (1981) and 'Dehumaniser' (1992). There was also the live album 'Live Evil' from 1983.
The band is ignoring Ozzy era Sabbath and showcasing on this often overlooked lineup, so if you're not a Dio-era Sabbath fan, don't go expecting to hear 'Paranoid'.
