Wendy Dio, the widow of Ronnie James Dio, wants his former group Heaven & Hell to continue. She would just like them to use a different name.
Heaven & Hell was formed in 2006 by Black Sabbath members Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler along with former members Dio and Vinny Appice. The four rockers had previously worked together under the Sabbath name from 1980 to 1982 and 1991 to 1992. It was when they went into the studio to record three new songs for the 2006 album Black Sabbath: The Dio Years that they realized they wanted to keep performing together but they didn't have the rights to the Sabbath name.
When Dio passed away in May from stomach cancer, the three remaining members of the group performed at a tribute show a couple of months later, saying that it was their last performance as Heaven & Hell. Wendy Dio, though, would like to see them continue. She told VH1 Radio, "I don't know what they're doing right now. I know that Geezer's been asked several times, and he's just...he took it very hard. I don't really know what they're doing right now. They should do something else, with Vinny, too. I mean, the band was amazing, an amazing band and they should carry on to do something. It won't be called Heaven & Hell but whatever they call it, it will be great. It will be amazing."
