Ticketing juggernaut Ticketmaster is launching a lawsuit against StubHub, a subsidiary of eBay that deals exclusively in on-selling tickets allegedly obtained through the promoter or artists.
Ticketmaster accuse StubHub of inducing promoters and artist representatives to demand tickets be held back to be sold through fan clubs or given to friends of the artist, and then giving said tickets to StubHub to sell.StubHub deny the allegation, saying they are going to fight the suit.
Ticketmaster's terms and conditions between the company and the promoter "generally do not permit its clients to utilize or authorize the use of the services of another ticketing company, such as StubHub," according to the lawsuit.
Ticketmaster already run their own on-selling auction site, ticketexchange.com where tickets are sold on from fans.
