Mark David Chapman is currently serving 20 years to life at the Wende Correctional Facility in Alden for the murder of John Lennon in 1980 has been denied parole for a 7th time.
Parole was denied to Chapman after a hearing on Wednesday. Sally Thompson, the parole board's deciding board member wrote to Chapman advising that "Despite your positive efforts while incarcerated, your release at this time would greatly undermine respect for the law and tend to trivialize the tragic loss of life which you caused as a result of this heinous, unprovoked, violent, cold and calculated crime,"
At his parole hearing two years ago Mark Chapman spoke of his crime, "I felt that by killing John Lennon I would become somebody and instead of that I became a murderer, and murderers are not somebodies,"
