Mark Chapman, the man who gunned down John Lennon outside the Dakota Apartment building N.Y in December 1980 will appear for his seventh parole hearing to apply for release this week.
Chapman became eligible for bail in 2000 and has since been rejected 6 times. Once denied he is able to re- apply every two years. A decision on whether to release him will more than likely be made public by the end of the week. Given the previous requests by Yoko Ono to have bail denied and the parole board's refusal to allow bail to due to several reasons including the monumental suffering of Yoko Ono at witnessing the crime and incompatibility with the safety of the community, it is not likely the 2012 attempt will be successful.
