The afore mentioned is taken from The Strypes Facebook Bio, and shortly you will see why they are the business. They have an average age of 15 years.
Their influences are their own, not Simon Cowells! They love The Beatles, The Rolling Stones (early stuff, 1963-1966), The Yardbirds, The Animals, Dr. Feelgood, The Who/The High Numbers, Chuck Berry, Bo Diddley, Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Sonny Boy Williamson, Jimmy Reed, John Lee Hooker, The Spencer Davis Group, Manfred Mann (Paul Jones era), and The Kinks to name a few. Hoorah for The Strypes! Thank goodness there are some young folk in the U.K with real potential. The Strypes will not fail you for rockin' goodtimes. As yet they are unsigned however that won't be for long. Surely?
On May 6th the boys made their London debut, headlining at the 229 venue on Great Portland St. In August they will travel to Gijon, Spain to take part in the three day “Euro Ye Ye” festival and later the same month are booked to do a four-day stint at the International Beatle Week in Liverpool where they will grace the world famous Cavern stage. Plus they have an EP out "Young Gifted and Blue" which can be purchased here. http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/young-gifted-blue-ep/id514603492
