The season of the “narrative concert” of Bon Scott’s life, Hell Ain’t A Bad Place To Be, has been extended.
Following in the footsteps of the Tex Perkin-helmed Johnny Cash tribute and Rick Price’s John Denver show and just before Clare Bowditch’s Eva Cassidy show, Nick Barker retells the life of Bon Scott.
Barker is joined by rocker Doug Parkinson to tell the story of Scott’s life early years and his time with AC/DC through stories and songs.
The writer/producer Andrew Barker says in a pree release, “The story of the rise of AC/DC is in everyone’s memory as if we were all there: riding high through the middle of Melbourne in the 1970s, singing the story of life on the road, of dreams and broken promises, of the long way to the top. At the centre of the band stands a man with bagpipes and a wicked grin – Bon Scott.”
The demand for tickets has extended the initial season of four dates from July 19-23 for another weekend, with four shows added: Thursday 28 July, Friday 28 July and a matinee and night show on Saturday 29 July.
Tickets for the four new shows at the Athenaeum Theatre in Melbourne are on sale now through Ticketmaster.
