Milwaukee’s own Brian Ritchie is now officially on his way to becoming Australia’s Brian Ritchie. The former Violent Femmes bass player has taken his citizenship test and will soon become an Aussie.
Brian and his wife Varuni moved to Hobart 5 years ago.
"I took the Australian citizenship test last week and scored 100%,” he tells Undercover.fm. “When Varuni and I moved here 5 years ago it was with the intention of joining Australian society and contributing something to this country we have grown to love. We'll be proud to take the oath later this year. The test was easy. Contrary to popular myth there are no questions about Don Bradman."
Brian is now a member of The Break with former Midnight Oil members Ron Hirst, Jim Moginie and Martin Rotsey. In 2010 they released their first album of instrumental surf music ‘Church of the Open Sky’.
