The Nirvana ‘Nevermind’ classic is about to undergo a face-lift for its 20th anniversary.
The new ‘Nevermind’ will be a 4CD/1 DVD Super Deluxe edition featuring previously unreleased tracks, rarities, b-sides, a BBC radio appearance, alternative mixes, rare live recordings and on the DVD a complete unreleased concert.
‘Nevermind’ was originally released in September, 1991. It became a benchmark album for its time and is now considered one of the all-time classic albums.
‘Nevermind’ was Nirvana’s second album. The band recorded it between May and June of ’91 with Butch Vig at Sound City Studios in the valley suburb of Van Nuys and Devonshire in North Hollywood with the song ‘Polly’ done a month earlier at Vig’s Smart Studio in Madison, Wisconsin.
The album features the classics ‘Smells Like Teen Spirit’ and ‘Come As You Are’.
It has since sold over 30 million albums worldwide and reached no. 1 in the USA, Sweden and Canada, no.2 in Australia, Austria, New Zealand, Norway and Switzerland and no.3 in Germany.
In England, it only got to no. 7.
Universal will release the new version of ‘Nevermind’ in Australia on September 18, 2011.
