Adele returns to number one on the ARIA charts but the top ten gets a shake up.
Adele’s 21 resumed the mantle at the top of the ARIA album chart this week, shaking off Lady Gaga.
But there are three new entries in the top ten: at number three Sarah Blasko, Holly Throsby and Sally Seltmann’s Seeker Lover Keeper collaboration, at number four Arctic Monkeys new album Suck It And See and Eddie Vedder’s Ukulele Songs at number six.
There was only one other debut this week – The Vines latest Future Primitive at 24 – but there were a bunch of re-entries.
Black Eyed Peas and the first Glee album popped back in at 30 and 31, Little Red and the second Glee album back in at 35 and 36, Taylor Swift back in at 38, Taio Cruz back at 41, and Ronan Keating’s 10 Years Of Hits back in at 45.
Kylie’s Aphrodite is benefitting from the tour press with a climb from 31 to 14, and the Script, Ke$ha and Lady Gaga all clawed back to 20, 21 and 22.
Foster The People, Potbelleez, Jennifer Lopez and Gurrumul have all dropped out of the top twenty.
And despite Ronan’s decade of hits getting back into the top fifty, his Burt Bacharach team-up dropped from 25 to 46.
LMFAO’s ‘Party Rock Anthem’ is still atop the singles chart after 15 weeks in, and has sold four times platinum. Well done, kids.
