Muse Plan Softer Record For Next Year

Majestic Brit rockers Muse have spoken about their recording plans, and hint that new music might be “softer”.

Muse Drummer Dominic Howard and bassist Chris Wolstenholme spoke to NME at an award ceremony and dropped some details of their next album.

They mapped out a plan to record in September or October of this year and “definitely” put an album out in 2012, three years after their last effort The Resistance.

Wolstenholme said they’re headlining the mammoth Leeds and Reading festivals in the middle of the year, “So September, October time we’ll get into the studio and start writing and working on the songs."

Howard said, “It takes as long as it takes really, because you have to love it before you can just chuck it out there and into the real world. But definitely next year.

They also revealed that ringleader Matt Bellamy is showing his softer side in new music he’s presented to them.

Howard said, “Who knows, it might be softer rock, but then it's up to me and Chris to make it heavy again. A heavy rock lullaby! But I'm sure it will move forward in some way."
