Wally De Backer's 2012 just gets better and better and better.... I wonder if Wally is pinching himself right now? Probably not, I reckon he always knew he had it in him.
Launching his Australian tour today, Gotye celebrates with an incredible three Grammy nominations; Record of the Year, Best Pop Duo/Group Performance for 'Somebody I Used To Know feat. Kimbra, and Best Alternative Music Album for Making Mirrors.
Record of the Year! Wow! Nice one! Did you know that of all three nominations that Record of The Year is the Grand Poo- Bah, the most prestigious? Also, Gotye is the first Australian artist to be nominated for this award since Olivia Newton-John won the famous statue way back in 1975.
The winners of the Grammys will be announced in Los Angeles on February 11 (Strine time). Wally says: "I'm not from Western Australia, so a nomination for a WAMI remains a distant dream. But three Grammy nominations are pretty good too. Truly though, it's an honour to be recognised and nominated amongst so many great musicians."
