Urban Home For New Year

Troubled country superstar Keith Urban has returned to Australia for New Year's with his wife Nicole Kidman.

While Urban had plans to appear at the ARIA Awards earlier in the year, his admittance to rehab after a lapse in his ongoing battle with drug and alcohol not only stopped him returning to Australia but prevented him from fully promoting his latest album 'Love, Pain And The Whole Crazy Thing'.

Despite (or because of) the blanket bad press, the album charted exceptionally well, and remains in the Australian Top 40 after seven weeks and in the US Top 30 after six weeks.

Today The Daily Telegraph reported that he appeared in Sydney for the first time since his Betty Ford stint, to watch a private film screening at United International Pictures, joined by Kidman's sister Antonia and security staff (of course).

They report that Urban missed a Christmas reunion by a hair, sneaking in on Tuesday when all apparently expected that Kidman would fly to LA this Friday. The couple were reportedly "calm and serene" despite recent tabloid allegations that Urban has been cavorting with an actress/model/waitress/groupie all the way up to his June nuptials.
