Brit boyband Blue have reformed and want us to believe they used to be bad boys for love.
Lee Ryan, Duncan James, Simon Webbe and Antony Costa will represent the UK at Eurovision next week and in interviews this week have spoken of their sex, drugs but so un-rock and roll lifestyle in the 90s.
But were they really bad?
Lee told the Daily Mirror that he was hooked on cocaine while Simon was the one who once made that ill-thought comment about 911 not being as important as elephants being killed in Africa. Duncan says he talked about threesomes in interviews because the record company said they came across as boring in interviews and needed to spice it up.
Blue formed in 2001 and split in 2005. They had number one hits in the UK with ‘Too Close’ (2001) and ‘If You Come Back’ (2002) and their cover of Elton’s John’s ‘Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word’ with Sir Elton in 2004.
They split because Elton said they were becoming decreasingly popular (coincidently right after they recorded with him) and concentrate on their solo careers. (Nice work Elton, we didn’t hear from any of them again … until now).
Blue will sing their new song ‘I Can’ at Eurovision in Düsseldorf on May 14.
