Melbourne band Icecream Hands will reform for a one-off show to play their album ‘Sweeter Than The Radio’ album in its entirety.
The line-up will feature Charles Jenkins, Derek G Smiley, Douglas Lee Robertson and Marcus Goodwin.
They will perform the album, produced by Wayne Connolly, from start t finish.
Icecream Hands formed in 1992. The original name of the band was Chuck Skatt and His Icecream Hands. Charles Jenkins was Chuck Skatt.
In 2000, ‘Sweeter Than The Radio’ was nominated for an ARIA for ‘Best Adult Contemporary Album’.
By 2004, the various members of Icecream Hands pursued outside projects. Jenkins started a solo career and released his first solo record ‘Bungalow’ that same year.
The band reformed in 2007 for the album ‘The Good China’ through Dust Devil Music but Jenkins continued his solo career and released ‘Blue Atlas’ and ‘Walk This Ocean’, also through Dust Devil Music.
To mark the reunion, Dust Devil Music will release the Icecream Hands rare live acoustic album ‘Live At Manchester Lane’ on the night of the show.
Icecream Hands will perform at Northcote Social Club on January 29.
