The Californian Highway Patrol have recommended Brandy be charged with manslaughter, after her vehicle was involved in a fatal car accident late last year.
It is alleged that the singer-actress instigated a four car accident on a Los Angeles freeway on December 30, when she rear-ended another vehicle. The driver of that vehicle, 38-year-old married mother of one Awatef Aboudihaj, was killed when her car collided with two other vehicles.The recommendation is for a misdemeanour offence, as opposed to the more serious felony offence. If charges are laid and Brandy is found guilty, she faces a $1000 fine and one year in jail.
It's not known why Brandy failed to stop in time, though investigators have ruled out alcohol, drugs, or excessive speed as possible causes.
