The sudden postponing of the Velvet Revolver tour looks like it has something to do with singer Scott Weiland's latest wows. He has once again been charged with DUI.
The Australian tour was suddenly pulled last Friday without explanation. A statement on behalf of the band from the promoter of the Australian tour said "Velvet Revolver regrettably announces that their Australian Tour which was due to kick off in Brisbane next Tuesday, has been postponed until early next year".Today it has emerged that Weiland has once again been charged for driving under the influence after crashing his car in Los Angeles on November 21.
Reports today state that the singer refused to take a blood or urine test and was arrested.
He will face court in Los Angeles on December 13. The Australian tour was due to start in Brisbane tonight (December 4th) and end in Adelaide on December 9th.
Velvet Revolver have a show scheduled for December 12th at the Gibson Amphitheatre at Universal City in LA.
Weiland has a record of DUI. He was charged with the same offence in 2003.à His record also includes buying cocaine in 1995 and domestic violence in 2001.
He has been placed on $40,000 bail.
