Singing legend Etta James has been diagnosed with dementia and leukaemia.
BBC News reports that according to court papers filed by her husband Artis Mills, Etta James is in increasingly poor health.
The papers claim that, according to a doctor, James currently needs help eating and dressing herself.
Mills filed the papers, claiming that she could no longer control her affairs. He is seeking control of her finances, which reportedly exceed $1 million.
James is best known for her classic ‘At Last’ and has won four Grammys, seventeen Blues Music Awards and has been inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.
She has not performed live since last year, when she was hospitalised with a blood infection.
