Jess Origliasso from The Veronicas is stranded at her mother’s Brisbane home with no power and surrounded by water but reports the band’s equipment has escaped harm.
The Veronicas were storing their musical equipment in a warehouse near their parent’s Brisbane home and feared that it would have been destroyed after family home was surrounded by water and had lost power.
The Aussie pop star, like thousands of Queenslanders, has been a victim of the floods that have caused billions of dollars in damages, destroyed thousands of homes and taken the lives of a dozen people.
Today Jess tweeted “Just got word our warehouse was spared with the lower than expected flood peak. We were so lucky. Came right up to the car park”.
Boyfriend, Billy Corgan from Smashing Pumpkins, is in the United States. He tweeted “If anyone happens to see a beautiful girl named @jessicaveronica going down a street on a kayak, send my love! Got cut/red umbrella/tats!”.
Jessica’s sister Lisa is also currently in the United States. She wrote, “Please keep my family, friend + everyone in QLD Australia in your prayers. It’s absolutely heartbreaking”.
