One time Australian Idol finalist Casey Barnes has released a song to help the Queensland Flood Victims.
‘Never Break You’ was written in December 2010 and intended for release at some stage this year but Barnes has decided to rush-release it and donate 100% of the proceeds to the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal.
“I’ve been sitting at home over the last week or so wondering what I can do to help with what’s going on with the devastating floods here in Queensland,” he said. “I've made a cash donation like so many others but wanted to do more on a bigger scale. I recorded 'Never Break You' just before Christmas with a good friend of mine Mark Duckworth and I was planning to release it later this year but given the subject matter of the song it would be selfish of me not to get it out and try and help right now. SO with the help of an amazing team of people we've been able to get this up on iTunes late last night (13/01/11) - ALL proceeds from the sale of this song will go directly to the Queensland Flood Appeal so I'm urging all Australians to get behind this.”
The song is about not being defeated. ‘If you think about this perfect life/Don’t let them break you/They’ll never break you down/ Don’t you hold on to, every time you fail/ Then they’ll Never Break You/ Never break you down', the lyrics read.
The song can be purchased now on iTunes.
