The hip-hop and dance communities rally for Queensland flood relief with two huge concerts in Melbourne.
US hip-hop adventurer Pharoahe Monch is in Australia for shows with Jean Grae and will headline Hip Hop Flood Relief at the Corner Hotel tomorrow night, Friday January 14.
He’ll be supported Boogie Blind of X-Ecutioners, Promoe, M-Phazes, Briggs, Tourettes, Young Lean, DJ Prequel, Theif & Wolfgram, Mantra and even more still to be announced.
Producer Grant Smillie has also set up DanceAid, a massive dance party kicking off next Wednesday January 19 at the Prince Bandroom in St. Kilda.
Smillie will perform alongside superstar DJs The Potbelliez, TV Rock, Zoe Badwi, Ruby Rose, Nervo Twins, The Stafford Brothers, Kaz James of Body Rockers, Hook N Sling and heaps more.
Smillie wrote, “The support from our DJs has been nothing short of amazing, with artists flying in at their own expense to take part in Dance Aid. We've managed in less than 24 hours to pull together an amazing lineup that is still growing.”
Both shows are to raise funds for the victims of the Queensland floods, with proceeds going to the Queensland Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal.
Dance Aid tickets are available from Moshtix here, and Hip Hop Flood Relief tickets are available from OzTix here.
