Michael Jackson’s posthumous self-titled album is sure to top the new releases this week.
Michael, featuring guest slots from 50 Cent, Akon and Lenny Kravitz, will no doubt be a huge seller for Christmas.
On the pop tip, diva Ciara teams up with Ludacris and Usher on tracks from her new album Basic Instinct.
Also, the much-anticipated soundtrack to Tron: Legacy by French electro masters Daft Punk comes out this week.
Clever alt-pop has a good run, with Swedish diva Robyn releasing her critically swooned-over Bodytalk album (following a slew of EPs) and Feist (of ‘1,2,3,4’ fame) releases Look At What You Did Now.
Our own Grace Woodroofe releases her debut Always Want this week, and we can report that it’s a gorgeous, sad indie blues opus.
Two English acts have a go this week: poppy punk lads McFly release Above The Noise and English popera star Russell Watson releases La Doce.
On the heavier side of things, Motorhead release their twentieth studio album The World Is Yours, punk/metal supergroup The Damned Things (featuring members of Anthrax, Every Time I Die and Fallout Boy) have their debut Ironiclast, and rock jokers Bloodhound Gang release a “Best Of” called Show Us Your Hits.
Check out our interview with Grace Woodroofe, who talks about working with Ben Harper, getting promoted by Heath Ledger, and touring the US.
