EMI's latest global signing Airbourne will perform at the Beach Concert for the St Kilda Festival in February.
The show on February 17th on the St Kilda foreshore in Melbourne will also feature Custom Kings, Blue King Brown, Dallas Crane and Bliss N Eso, with more acts to be announced.Warrnambool's Airbourne is being touted as "the new AC/DC".
They recently finished the recording of their debut album in Los Angeles and will showcase at SxSW in Austin, Texas in March.
The four member band features brothers Joel and Ryan O'Keeffe, David 'Roadsy' Roads and Justin 'Streety' Street.
Airbourne grabbed a few ears when they played the main stage of the Big Day Out in 2006 and have had support acts with the Rolling Stones, Motley Crue, You Am I and The Living End.
Influenced by AC/DC, lead singer Joel O'Keeffe has the same stage presence and charisma of a young Bon Scott.
The band formed in 2001 and relocated to Melbourne in 2005. That same year, they signed with EMI's Capitol Records for release in Australia and the United States.
