Steve Van Zandt is returning to his TV origins.
David Chase, the creator and producer of The Sopranos, is about to start work on his directorial debut for a feature film and he's bringing along E-Street Band member and part-time actor Steven Van Zandt for the ride. The two worked together for six seasons of The Sopranos where Van Zandt played Silvio Dante.
Van Zandt will wear multiple hats on the film, both producing and supervising the music along with being an Executive Producer. The film, which is expected to start shooting in January, will star John Magaro, Jack Huston and Will Brill and will be released through Paramount Vantage. The story is set in the 60's and revolves around a fictitious New Jersey rock group named the Twilight Zones.
Chase said "I am also thrilled to be working with Steven again, especially on this particular subject. It's not just that we both worship the same songs and bands from the era - it's that he obviously knows so much. About every aspect.
He embodies a particular spirit of a particular kind of rock and roll. He actually is that spirit."
