Blake hit out at the use of Autotune claiming it to be the musical equivalent of performance enhancing drugs.
The Brit Award winners posted on Twitter 'Giving singers access to AutoTune, is just as bad as giving 'performance enhancing drugs' to Olympic Athletes. BLAKE are AT [Autotune] free, and proud!' and 'this cheap trick has fooled audiences too long, if you can sing, SING!'Baritone Stephen Bowman added 'f someone performing on a TV show can't sing then it is dishonest to use Autotune to pretend otherwise. The audiences are being lied to and the contestants are being set up for public humiliation when they have to perform without Autotune.'
Having performed their blend of classical pop around the world and in front of millions of TV viewers at sporting events, Blake passionately believe that singers should always perform live. 'f you can sing, you don't need Autotune. If you need it then don't sing, find something you can do' stated Jules Knight
Blake recently launched a search for choirs to join them on their UK tour - 'There are many wonderful young singers in choirs throughout Britain who regularly perform live with no cheating. We want to celebrate this great talent and so have invited choirs to sing with us.' explains tenor Humphrey Berney. The chosen choirs will perform several of Blake's well known classic-pop renditions, including 'Hallelujah', 'Jerusalem' and 'Nessun Dorma', that helped catapult the group to global success.
