Gorillaz have long been rumoured to be heading to Australia, but those rumours kicked up a notch this week.
Christie Elizer of The Music Network says that a tour could be announced as early as this week.Recently on the BBC, frontman Damon Albarn announced that the band were doing 22 dates in Europe and Australia, which first sparked people's curiosity.
The band have never toured Australia, and Albarn's previous band Blur last made it to these shores in 1997.
Gorillaz were slow to begin touring, with sporadic early shows consisting of silhouettes projected onto a cartoon screen amounting to little more than an overpriced cinema experience with a live soundtrack, but all of that has changed with amazing performances reported from Coachella and Glastonbury.
Stay tuned for more info.
