Rock is finally going to honour the ladies who have given it so much inspiration – the fat chicks.
'Whole Lotta Love: An All-Star Salute To Fat Chicks' will be released as a tribute to the girls who have inspired so many of rock's classics. The album features songs such as 'Unskinny Bop', 'Fat Bottomed Girls' and 'Whole Lotta Rosie' performed by members of Bret Michaels Band, Cinderella and L.A. Guns.
The Poison classic 'Unskinny Bop' will be performed by Evick who also perform as Bret Michaels' Band. "If anyone has earned the right to cover a Poison song, it's us!" states Evick founder Pete Evick. "We play this one year-round as the Bret Michaels Band, so we know it inside and out. Even though 'Unskinny Bop' has nothing to do with unskinny girls, most people seem to think it does. As such, all it took was a few tweaks to the lyrics to make this song fit the album concept (without changing the heart and soul of the Poison original)."
Queen's 'Fat Bottomed Girls' is sung by Phil Lewis of L.A Guns. Cinderella guitarist Jeff LaBar will do 'Whole Lotta Rosie'.
'Whole Lotta Love: An All-Star Tribute To Fat Chicks' will be released through SplitScreen Entertainment in August.
