Radiohead drummer Phil Selway announces title, release date and guests for his solo debut.
Selway has been filling his time between sporadic Radiohead recording sessions with work on Neil Finn’s 7 Worlds Collide collaboration and his own solo album.It will be called ‘Familial’ and will appear under his stately full name of Philip Selway on August 30, 2010.
The album features guest spots from singer/songwriter Lisa Germano, ex-Soul Coughing bassist Sebastien Steinberg, and both drummer Glenn Kotche and multi-instrumentalist Pat Sansone of Wilco.
It’s a ten track album and Selway and his band have already performed some of the songs during a European tour in March.
The final track ‘The Witching Hour’, and one not on the album, ‘The Ties That Bind Us’, have previously appeared on the 7 Worlds Collide compilation.
There’s no word on further tours for Selway. Radiohead are still reported to be in an LA studio recording the follow-up to ‘In Rainbows’.
